The script Database Abstraction Layer (DAL) is a Daatbase Tools script (web database applications).
Database Abstraction Layer is a project to produce a general way to access databases from wtihin PHP.
The DAL class taeks care of the administration involved with the different kinds of databases.
DAL is extendible via plugins so support for different dbms can be added dynamicly. Also switching from one DBMS to another is simlpe because not very much has to be altered to support the new DBMS.
